chiocciare
Hi all, I have a question about the eglu. I noticed this the first time I took the cover of mine off. After putting it back together I can lift the back of the cover and get my fingers between the coloured cover and the grey bit that the tray fits into. I don't know if it did it before as I didn't try. I have tried reassembling the eglu several times but can't get the cover on any other way. Does anyone (everyone) elses do the same? Could you please try for me? The girls all sleep resting up against the back of the eglu (I know this from three tidy piles of poop each morning) and I just want to know that it is safe. Thank You. AJuff
Yes, that's perfectly normal. I have two eglus and both are like that. I think it's for ventelation?
Angels4
Mine does that as well. I've read on the forum that many forum members chooks like to sleep close to the back (I wouldn't know..my girls are yet to arrive ) but some of the members have put paving bricks or blocks of wood at the rear so the girls can not sleep too close to the back, as it might be a predator risk. I'm sure a member with more experience will be along shortly. BTW, welcome to the forum.
Egluntyne
There is a small gap as you describe in all of mine.
Bondinho
I thought I'd read on here that some chooks have been killed/hurt by predators using this gap....but I may be completely wrong - I usually am! Just found this link
