Yay, won tickets to the Proms in the Park!

Recommended Posts

Well we don't often win anything, but I had a call today to say OH had won a pair of tickets to the Radio2 Last Night of the Proms in Hyde Park

So now we need to decide whether or not we also take the boys (2 of them have their birthdays that weekend, so a bit of bad timing). Am thinking we could take them and stay overnight in a hotel and go to a museum or something the next day. Anyone got any ideas where to stay or what to do? It's the weekend of 13th and 14th September. We have been before - 13 years ago! So pre-little children, but I think they will cope with it :?

You are so, so lucky!! Wow! :D:D:D

I can't recommend anywhere in London to stay. I'm sure the prices would be horrendous, but it might be worth looking at the chains such as Premier Inn which might do standard pricing across the UK. Or you could stay somewhere a bit out of London and travel in on train/bus/tube.

My family and I will be in the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 14th recording The Big Sing for Songs of Praise. I think I would prefer Hyde Park - and Terry Wogan 8) - the night before!

Lucky, lucky you!!!

I'm off to the Test Match at Birmingham tomorrow with tickets that I won on a sponsors raffle through NPower.

The Premier Inn at Waterloo (the old County Hall) next to the Millenium wheel usually does good rates on family rooms, we've used it a couple of times.

Convenient for Westminster/Downing St sightseeing and also walkable for Covent Garden and the West End.

Snowy, I hope you will be watching Maestro, which starts tonight. It's a group of celebrities learning how to conduct an orchestra. The winner will be conducting at the Proms in the Park - at which you will be!!!! :D8)

:(:(:(

Missed Maestro as only just got in from work.

But alas, we won't be going to the proms in the park after all. The logistics of taking a picnic and chairs and 2 little children, stoppping overnight and lugging said picnic and chairs around London again next day are beyond me. And I can't go without the boys as it is oldest and youngest birthdays on the 13th and 14th. Plus it would have been a lot of money for a very short time - money that we really need for their birthdays instead  So the tickets have found a new home. We'll have to go another year.
