missuscluck
We had kippers for tea tonight. I have never eaten kippers ever before. Im not really sure why. We went to Asda today and we stopped to have a nosey on the fish counter and noticed that the kipper fillets were 35p each. My daughter fancied a try so we bought one each for tea. I was unsure what to do with them so we opted for the breakfast method and had them with scrambled eggs with some chives snipped from the garden and some toast. A real budget meal at 35p a head with our own eggs. Im converted, they tasted really nice . Anyone else do anything good with kippers. Guest
if you like kippers try peppered mackerel. I just eat it cold, on a sandwich. I peel the skin off the back, slap it on a butty and yum! I bet kippers would be just as nice on a sarnie.

Cinnamon
I adore Kippers, but they do repeat on me somewhat I think they are best breakfasted. Or maybe with some grilled tomatoes, new potatoes & crusty bread? Kedgeree is a staple in our house, but I always make it with smoked haddock - kippers have a much stronger flavour
spratly0
We love kedgeree but usually make it with smoked mackerel and its very tasty. I think any smoked fish would probably work. I like kippers too and don't see why it wouldn't work.
emily95
Hi If you like kippers then take a look at this site http://www.kipper.co.uk/recipes.html The recipe where you put the kipper in a jug is great because it doesnt make your kitchen smell as much! Looney
Ewww kippers Smoked fish is one of the few things I don't like, I can't even force myself to eat it! It's a shame because I would love to like smoked fish, so many interesting recipes!
Lesley
I make Carl do his kippers in a jug - I can't stand the smell of them cooking (outside if the weather is good ). ....I can't bear the tiny hairy bones either, so I can't eat them I use smoked haddock in kedgeree. Egluntyne
Him Indoors loves them but they do pervade the atmosphere somewhat. I make Kedgeree with smoked haddock too.
