How long does it take?

Recommended Posts

My Wyandotte is causing a lot of noise, both her and one of the Isas are yelling at the top of their voices because Lacey (the Wyandotte) is in and out of the nest box, scratching, moving round and moaning but not producing anythig - it has been going on for about an hour and a half now.

Is that timescale ok or is something going wrong?

Ok, she has been at it for 6 hours and I am starting to worry about her being *egg bound* - what do you think the chances are of that?

She sits in the box, s"Ooops, word censored!"ing at the bottom. Continuously. It has been going on for ages now. I did pick her up to see if I could feel anything but there was nothing obvious. . . Sydney went in and laid an egg within minutes compared to this one.

Anyone have any suggestions? Am considering a warm bath for her!
