Electricbarbarella
Stripey has gone into the nesting box about 1/2 hour ago, I am waiting for my brekkie. How long does it take?
karlotta
After her first egg on Thursday, Valerie was in and out of the nest box all day yesterday, for up to about 15-20 mins at a time... but nothing was produced!
Electricbarbarella
well I would have to say that was the nicest egg I have ever eaten.
bokbokbok
My Wyandotte is causing a lot of noise, both her and one of the Isas are yelling at the top of their voices because Lacey (the Wyandotte) is in and out of the nest box, scratching, moving round and moaning but not producing anythig - it has been going on for about an hour and a half now. Is that timescale ok or is something going wrong?
bokbokbok
Ah - Sydney was noisy because she wanted the nest box! In the end she went on in WITH Lacey and laid her own egg. Lacey is still in there - I think she needs diagrams!
Janty
My cochins take hours to lay their eggs. Then they shout louder than the others afterwards.
bokbokbok
Ok, she has been at it for 6 hours and I am starting to worry about her being *egg bound* - what do you think the chances are of that? She sits in the box, s"Ooops, word censored!"ing at the bottom. Continuously. It has been going on for ages now. I did pick her up to see if I could feel anything but there was nothing obvious. . . Sydney went in and laid an egg within minutes compared to this one. Anyone have any suggestions? Am considering a warm bath for her!
bokbokbok
Yay - panic over - she laid a perfect weee egg (our first bantam egg ) and seems to be happy again. Poor wee thing.
