shaun
I'm a teacher at a school and during our 'Business and Enterprise' week in July, I helped a group of Y9 students design and build a chicken run in a quad in the Science labs. We then got four ex-batts from the BHWT and here they are: mms://62.49.126.196:8080 It's a bit grainy, but if you're patient, you might see one of the girls skip past gayly in their new pad! The kids loved it and the staff are looking forward to buying fresh eggs next term! Shaun

shaun
Don't know - the IT crowd did it! I can ask if you like.
Egluntyne
No hens in sight, but clear view of a tree. Looks a lovely run. Looks rather windy in your neck of the woods too.
shaun
Certainly is! Summer has bypassed the south-coast. The girls will have their own supply of apples from the tree
melly264
what a great project to get the kids involved in, well done you! Not a chicken in sight, but I guess its a bit late for them, in this weather they've probablly given up early today!
quickcluck
lovely tree! Will check back in the morning and see if I can catch them with bed hair!
Guest
Its very dark in West Sussex at the moment. It wasn't when I was in Selsey earlier today! Was VERY blowy on the beach though. Dont remember it being that dark when I lived there......
quickcluck
sunny and windy this morning I see,but they must be very camera shy!
shaun
They are being rather elusive aren't they? The problem is that the other two sides of the run (out of picture) are lined by very big and mature shrubs - that the girls love frolicking about in! Ain't Nobody Here
I saw one . I saw one . Just a little head walking past the grass on the left, but still .... it proves you've not made it up . Update: 3 chickens at the grub - hooray . And you seem to have something pecking around outside the run .
quickcluck
Yay!! Me too, me too, all scoffing at the grub!!! Thought they were phantom chicks for a while there, or a psychology project!
surferdog
What a brilliant idea - more schools should get involved in these types of projects. The girls look very well feathered for ex-batts, obviously benefitting from a bit of TLC!
Cate in NZ
I just saw them . 2 at the grub having a good old feed then a third (with a rather magnificent red comb) walked straight in front of the camera . Still looks very blowy over there though, judging by the way the tree branches were waving around and not at all the glorious summer's day I was expecting to see. Peachy77
yay, just say one at the grub to. Excellent.
Electricbarbarella
thewy look fab and very happy, what a fantastic project for the kids. The main reason i got chooks was for my own children to get excioted about food and animal care.
frenchlayer
what a good idea chook cam. It looks very windy today, one was at the grub though and another walked past. Tis windy here too, must move further south!
HENthusiastic
I saw one I saw one! She was at the grub and had a right old feed, then strolled off to the left! Strange how excited I felt spotting a chicken, when I've got them in my own garden. It made me smile on a very tough day at work. Thank you.
