The others didn't want their photos taken this morning. lol

They seem to be settling well, all presently snoozing on their roasting bars.

Im totally hooked could spend all day watching them lol.

Thanks everyone.

It took about 8 weeks from start to finish, but that was mostly waiting for free dry days. lol

Major building credit must go to my OH. I did a lot of painting and holding things.

Looking forward to getting to know my girls and trying to think up some names.

Quick question, do you mix grit into the pellets or put in seperately.

Thanks

Thanks Mrs B. I shall be a-scattering grit tonight.

My OH really enjoyed making it (although don't tell anyone), that was once he got going though. We did have a pile of wood and wire for a couple of months in the garden lol.

Just hope its fox proof.

The run looks great, and what lovely girls! :D

I think you are right about the run not staying pristine - as i tell the Yr1 class when i take a hen in, Chickens are not experts in flying but they are experts in pooing! how such a small animal generates such copious quantities of waste and still has time to lay an egg is beyond me!

Dear Josephine

Sorry for the delay in replying. We picked up the hens on tuesday, Ben said they are between 16-20 weeks old. id say the orange hen is towards the 16 week end as she is the smallest and least developed. Our Medlesham Blue is the biggest and I think is responsible for our first egg. it was about half the size of a normal one but perfect.
