Trish
LSH just spent 2 hours dropping of eldest don and girl friend there. We live 10 minutes drive away
Cinnamon
Don't talk to me about festivals. I had to take Hubby to hospital in a rush this morning, just as all the Reading festival goers were turning up - nightmare traffic. Then on Saturday,1 hour before it opens for the day,I have to take him back for a check up past the festival site ,then drop Devon & her friend off at the festival for the day, returning to pick them up at the end Luckily,as its on the river, they have a shuttle boat,so we can park quite a distance away, drop them off & they can get the boat in. It seemed like SUCH a nice idea, letting her go to her first fest this year,& it is so near to us,but I am getting more worried about it the closer it gets
theherd123
My mum dropped my cousin off at the train station this morning - she is off to Leeds too with more stuff than you can imagine! Sarah im sure Devon will love it and afterall you are close by and only at the end of the phone. My cousin is 17 and Leeds Fest is just over 10 miles away so a close festival to home is a good way to start.
chocchick
I'm so glad I didn't drive to Leeds (for something else) last night! Looks like I would never have got there on time. Hope YS enjoys it.
AnnieP
Hope they all have a good time. The weather looks very un-festival like!
Krysia
I hope they all have a good time but seeing the mud on the news I'm happy i'll be at home in the warmth and the dry!
Cinnamon
Devon had a great time at Reading yesterday - & the sun shone so much that she caught it a bit on her shoulders We saw some of the footage on TV last night & it looked really good. She saw The Manics,Bloc Party & Foals I think. Personally I would have seen The Killers,as I really love them, but she was right at the front for The Manics & decided to stay where she was. I wouldn't have missed The Raconteurs either, but then again I am not 15 The wind was blowing from there to here,so I could actually hear when The Killers set ended I had to pick her up at some ridiculous hour though,as she had to wait for the shuttle boat back to the pick up point, & I am shattered today. Ms Marple
I'm too old and grumpy for all that mud and the portaloos, so I went to see REM and the Editors at Old Trafford instead. The were both brilliant! The lead singer of the Editors reminds me a bit of Ian Curtis - remember him anyone?? I wonder if any Omleteers were there? Egluntyne
YS is back, filthy, stinking, starving and exhausted. He said it was "alright" when quizzed. Praise indeed from him. He says there was a bit of a riot at the end.
Cinnamon
There was a car fire at Reading - 19 cars destroyed apparantly. Back to normal for a week, then its WOMAD
Ms Marple
Back to normal for a week, then its WOMAD ????????????????????????????? I think I've got my own Leeds festival going on here anyway. We have got mud, mess and a portaloo. If I could sort the darn photos I could show you although it is not pretty - yet.....
Cinnamon
WOMAD - World of Music & Dance. Its a really big event, but no my thing at all - too many pan pipes for my liking Just means more traffic chaos, really.
Lydia
I thought WOMAD had moved to Wiltshire and already happened this year?
