redfrock
Hi all Just posting to let you know about a fab Ebay seller I have found. Her EBay ID is gardenbeetle and her EBay shop ID is gardenersofeden http://stores.ebay.co.uk/gardenersofeden She is selling 900g bags of Bokashi for £4.50, plus £3 postage. She looked into combined purchase on the 2 bags I bought and couldn't get it any cheaper, but was able to find a courier who would deliver 3 bags for only £6.99, so I've bought 3 ... Cough's curry poos are simply to much to take first thing in the morning She is really lovely to deal with too. A good all round experience! Egluntyne
Did you spot this! Kits for making your own bokashi bran! **Here** I've accidentally clicked the Buy it Now button. Damn.
redfrock
oooh! let me know how you get on with it and I may well invest in that next time (oh and pm her that you found her on the Omlet link - she'll be thrilled!)

laurmurf
When I looked for bokashi i found it the cheapest from... Omlet! As it's £4.10 for a kilo plus £2.15 postage that works out cheaper than £7.50 for 900grams that you found Redfrock. I don't think Omlet do combined postage though... that's where you'll make savings I suppose. Omlet buys theirs from www.wigglywigglers.co.uk, where they sell it for £5 for a kilo bag (more expensive than Omlet!). I couldn't find out how much their postage is though... I bought my first bag and am not quite sure what changes to expect but I'm sure it's good for the girls in any case!
redfrock
I nearly bought from Omlet but wasn't sure on the weight as when you look at the product it says 1kg but when you go through to the chekout it shows the weight as 0.6kg
Yolky
It says 1kg on my bag I got from omlet. I ordered from them again 2 days ago so I shall weigh the bag when it gets here and let you know. I will be miffed if it is 600g.
Ain't Nobody Here
I checked all the prices from all the suppliers ages ago and found Wiggly Wigglers to be cheapest. May not still be the case though . I'm going to compare the Ebay seller's prices - I need more bokashi . Thanks for the advice . Laurmurf, sorry but it seems you've been inadvertantly diddled by Omlet . Perhaps you could point out their mistake to them so others don't pay too much too ? ChickenGeorge2
I ordered 1kg from Omlet when received it only 600gms in bag, e-mailed Omlet they sent me another 600gm bag free of charge, it pays to check what you receive. Give Omlet credit though absolutely no problem rectifying the error.

Ain't Nobody Here
It helps their digestion and firms up their poos really well. You can add it to their food.

Egluntyne
oooh! let me know how you get on with it and I may well invest in that next time (oh and pm her that you found her on the Omlet link - she'll be thrilled!) It has arrived. Intriguing. You get a large tub, bran, gloves, a bit of bin liner to keep out the light, a bottle of ready to use EMs formula and a bottle of concentrated EMs formula. You mix the bran and the ready to use formula together, cover it with the bin liner and put the lid on securely. You then leave it to ferment for at east a fortnight. You can use it at this stage or you can spread it out to dry and store it. Meanwhile, you can keep keep making the concentrated formula ad infinitum apparently by diluting and allowing the liquid to ferment. All you need to do is repeat the processes and buy more wheat bran from time to time. The only extras you need are some organic molasses and a couple of clean 2L pop bottles. A bit like kitchen alchemy. I shall report back again in a fortnight or so when the first lot has fermented. If I remember.
bokbokbok
Egluntine, how much room does it take up - is the process maintained within the space of the bucket or does it take over the whole room? Is it worth it? Does it make enough to justify it? Will you continue with the process once your first bucket is done? Could you do it and then start selling it to near-by chook owners? The Dogmother
That link looks good Claire, thanks. I have a big sack at the moment, which I bought from WWigglers when I was getting other stuff delivered, but willl bear this in mind for when it has run out. I'd love to do the fermenting bit (I just love the smell of it) but don't have room in my kitchen! Have Omlet changed the packet size advertised on the site? If not, it would be worth emailing James. Egluntyne
Egluntine, how much room does it take up - It is about the size of a breadbin. is the process maintained within the space of the bucket or does it take over the whole room? Within the container, but once it has fermented you should spread it out to dry. Is it worth it? Don't know yet. Does it make enough to justify it? Don't know yet. Will you continue with the process once your first bucket is done? If it works satisfactorily I will. Could you do it and then start selling it to near-by chook owners? The thought had occurred to me.

MedusA
I'll be interested to hear the outcomes of the "Omleteers' DIY Bokashi Experiment". I tend to find that Wiggly Wigglers do deals on bokashi every now and then. If you sign up the the e-newsletters you'll get to know what's on offer. The last time I got BOGOF, so it was definitely good value, especially as no mater how much stuff you order, delivery is the same price, so I got a load of stuff for my wormery at the same time.
