jackiepoppies
There are loads of really interesting topics and people that appear on the forum but seem to fizzle out with no real conclusion. Guest
i know what you mean and i always wonder how Bantam of the opera got on with building her run, amongst other topics. Thanks for asking, I kind of let that thread wane (sp?) because things weren't looking good for a while and I didn't feel up to talking about it. He's still in hospital, he's had c diff about 3 times now, maybe 4? He has lucid moments but then the next day he'll be talking nonsense, chucking his bed clothes all over the place or he'll be asleep and won't wake up. He's having physio to get him walking again. We're hoping he'll be coming home soon, mum and dad's dining room has been turned into a bedroom as he needs to sleep downstairs and he'll have carers come in to wash him, check his catheter, get him out of bed etc. (mum will have to pay for that, it's not free). Social services are assessing him on Friday so we'll know more then. The hospital are lending mum a bed. We just take it day by day at the moment because he's so up and down. Anyway, thanks for thinking of dad, he's making slow progress but we're hoping when he's in his own environment, things might start to improve with his mental state. p.s. to Vicki, thanks for the PM and sorry not to have got back to you, I forgot xxx
jackiepoppies
Thank you Poet. I am sorry if I intruded. I can't believe you will have to pay for carers. Social Services are notoriously tight lipped about benefits you are entitled to. Make sure you ask for everthing. Your Dad has earned it! Good luck and hugs Jackiex

Ain't Nobody Here
Jackiepoppies, that's sweet of you. It's so nice to "know" people who care and are concerned . ANH ..... I read all 45 pages of your post on your poorly Dad and your testy Mum, how are things now? Wow . Give that girl a medal . Poet, don't worry, I'm just glad to have an update. Sorry things aren't so good, but I hope it'll improve when your Dad gets home. Hopefully it'll be less stressful for you all - it's been going on for a long time . Things chez ANH have settled down a lot. Mum is a lot calmer and is being quite nice to me which makes life a lot easier. She still moans and complains and winges a lot but I can cope with that (with a lot of behind her back ). Dad seems fairly content but often doesn't recognise me and never remembers who's visited him, even Mum who goes in every day. He often thinks she's sitting next to him in the nursing home lounge. lizinsa
Thanks for the updates everyone! It's strange how we can get so engrossed in the lives of people we've never met and I often suddenly wonder how someone on the forum is doing!
