Jonny
My walk in run has a weld mesh roof and with the current heatwave (not) I think its time for a roof before the cube sinks below ground level. I think most people use corrugated plastic sheeting. Any tips on the cheapest place to get it from?
abwsco
I got ours from Wickes. They also were doing them at a slightly cheaper price if you bought 5 or more. HTH
Phosphorus
We got corrugated plastic sheet from Wickes as well as far as I remember. Go for it, don't think summer is coming back (what we had of it)
Ain't Nobody Here
B&Q for me. £6.50 a sheet, if I remember rightly.
chelsea
got ours from wickes aswell. And guttering which works well going into a water butt especially in this monsoon season we've been having!
new chick
Add 4 plastic corrugated sheets to our hen house on Saturday. (Well not me but OH). Needed it after Fridays rain. Girls are now dry, and not had any wet patches in their run. It over laps about 18 inches all the way round. Will have to see if it survives the wind! Jonny
Thanks all. Roof successfully installed! 6 sheets for just over £30 from B and Q. Slightly cheaper if you buy 5 or more. Plus the chooks got a whole day free ranging in the garden!
MedusA
I seem to remember when we did ours that B&Q was marginally cheaper than Wickes, but there was not much in it. One word of warning, for anyone planning similar projects. Unless you are brilliant at laying corrugated sheeting, you are likely to get some bowing areas that puddle and leak when it rains heavily. But it is definitely much better than leaving it open to the elements. The bonus is that the girls love digging up the moist areas when it does stop raining.
