Beauty-Box
Went to pick up three hens from BHWT today. They are sweet, but a little shell shocked. They are in the run and don't seem to know what to do. Bless!

Egluntyne
Congratulations! Am so pleased for you! Have they got names? Speckle aka Piper is thriving here....we love her to bits. Everyone remarks upon how beautiful she is. Her and her buddies have all had clean knickers on today and a dab or two of Xeno 200 behind their ears ready for a Saturday night out on the town. Egluntyne
What is Xeno 200, Egluntine? Calvin Klein for hens. Just kidding. **Xeno 200** It is an Ivermectin product, used as a light wormer and to see off lice and mites. ** Not licensed for use in poultry in UK. Beauty-Box
Thanks for all your messages. Egluntine glad to hear Piper is getting on fine, she is a beautiful hen. The new girls are settling in well. Had to put two of them in the eglu last night because they didn't know where to go and we have already had three eggs although one laid hers on the roosting bars and it smashed. Their nails are very long, do they need to be trimmed or will they wear down over time? Also do their beaks grow back? Here are a couple of pictures. Only one of them has a name (Sadie). She is the one on the left of the first pic.
Ain't Nobody Here
Bless 'em, beautiful girls but they look like they've seen the world, don't they and their lovely combs are so pale . Bet it's not long before they're bright red .
