Mother of all thunderstorms!

Recommended Posts

The thunder is going good here near Banbury, maybe some rain for us today :D

I was at the Royal show yesterday and the hailstorm around 6pm was great, it poured down. everyone was wearing flip flops and sandals totally unprepared :?

The roads turned into rivers for a while.

We had rain over night and now it is cloudy and dull, but still quite sticky indoors. Fresher outside.

I was worried about sports day (today) in 32 degrees, now I'm worried that the track will be dangerously slippery! Pleased I won't have to suffer 32 degrees though! :D

would you all like a picture of my rather green lawn and healthy plants?

We seemed to have had a fair bit of rain during these thunderstorms and the de humidifier is working great guns to top up the hanging baskets!

Only dead pathches of lawn are from where the chickens have previously been but!

Might even get the mower out!

Well the rain arrived - no thunder but plenty of rain!:shock::shock:

400 children and probably 250 parents on the sports field caught in absolutely torrential buckets of rain. Soaked to the skin in 1 minute! Everyone sent home to dry off!

We haven't had any rain here at all.

We had to put the lights on last night about 7pm as it was so dark, but still no rain, a bit of thunder and lightening but not a drop of rain.

A girl I work with lives in a village a couple of miles away and she was at a parents evening last night and whilst she was there the school flooded. The parents and teachers managed to get rid of most of the water and clear up a bit, but when she got home her own home was under 4 inches of water and had been invaded by frogs :(:(

Well the weather is now humid and dull  ...not quite what I'd hoped but i think it'lll keep tipping it down over the coming afternoon/evening. Oh and more power cuts I expect. Given up putting clocks right, lay in bed this morning and it was light and clock said 3.30 and I though :P nearly 4 hours left to snuggle in bed and then Mikey said it was 5.50am  oh ratty bags!!

:lol: Not much thunder here today apart from a bit this morning in the distance. some showers on and off, but it dries as soon as it hits the ground. I'd like a really big storm :D

I hope it's good on Sunday, I have 97 people coming to our office summer do, we have sports/games planned and there's not enough room in the marquee for them all at the same time
