buffie
Anyone else got a thunderstorm. Had to rush and get everything in and covered and put the girls away...too nasty to let them just wander or shelter. Hope it clears the air am drenched but drying off quickly in the heat! The Dogmother
Brilliant, send it this way Babs! I love storms and will run around in them if it's summer
Mrs Frugal
Hope it's headed this way, Buffie. There's a feeling in the air that something's about to happen!! Cooler and darker at the moment! Hope it chucks it down - save poor LSH having to go out and water the pots!
The Dogmother
Tell you what Kate, I am fed up with watering everything by can - all the plants are wilting after just a day and the lawn is pure brown! We made the chooks a swimming pool out of an old cat litter tray full of water - they can splash about in that
PurpleHen
PLEASE send it here - we so need a good storm.....
Karen & co.
We had a fantastic one on sunday, so after a mad dash to get everything away or covered! I took a cup of coffee and sat on our garden swing seat which has a cover, watching the rain and lightening all around. I love storms! The garden and air smelled wonderful afterwards karen x
The Dogmother
That's so evocative Karen I can't wait! Got parents evening tonight, but I'll still walk down there even if it's pouring. I'd love a swing seat like that, but I don't really have enough room. When I re-model the garden (a long way off) I want to put in some sort of small covered arbour so that I can sit out in the shade.

rachel19
I think we're due the thunderstorms tomorrow!!! We had the tiniest splash of rain this afternoon but it went within 5 mins. Looking forward to some wet weather! I love the smell of rain when it's been so hot and dry for a while

Cate in NZ
We had a brief thunderstorm and downpour in London this afternoon. Saved me watering, but not enough for the lawn... We got the same thunderstorm I'm sure Christine. It hit at about 3pm whilst I was at work and absolutely sweltering. Everything went dark and it absolutely bucketted it down.... for about 10 mins . It made liitle or no difference to the heat and humidity, and by the time I left at 7:30pm it might as well have never happened Still got to go watering tonight because the garden's as dry as a bone
The Dogmother
Well, it didn't get here Dark skies on the horizon and much distant thunder but no storm. Still hot last night though, I thought it might cool down.
