Ain't Nobody Here
Well, what an anti-blinking-climax . Not a flake has fallen despite severe weather warnings, "blizzards", "drifting", "be prepared", etc, etc. What a load of tosh . We're just stuck with the ungritted snow & ice on our roads & pavements that we got a few days ago .

fowlbird
Posties in Cumbria must be tougher than down here - ours stopped wearing his shorts last month. I must say that I think ours has the best legs I've seen in Berks... Is there a PO ruling on legs?

Old Speckled Hen
Much nicer in the summer You need crampons to do any walking at the moment It started raining a little while ago but now there are patches of blue sky so I fear it will all freeze over tonight. Back to my quince cheese which is bubbling like mud on the stove.
Yorkshire Pudding
Oh joy. About five minutes ago I noticed that the girls had gone back to sit in their covered run, and thought ' I bet the weather's about to change'. Chickens are good barometers! I was right. It's now belting down - sideways. The beautiful thick snowflakes we had this morning soon turned to slush, now the rain is removing the rest. Time to get a nice hearty dinner on the go! I want some PROPER snow like DA's!
The Dogmother
What a shame The driving sleet that we had earlier gave way to sunshine and very cold wind. It's now clouding over again and I guess that some more wet is on the way.
Egluntyne
Horrible here now. The Aubiose in the run is saturated. I've scattered some more on top as a temporary measure and cleaned the Eglu and cubes so that will have to do for now. The hens are playing in the slush at the moment. Ardene5
Hi Everyone Here in Preesall Near Blackpool the morning started as if we too were going to get snow. But that idea lasted about 5 minutes as it began to rain. Up to about 10 am it rained then slowly it dried up to leave us with an overcast day, as evening started so did the rain again. The garden is flooded but the hens are safe in their Henian Castle as it is 7 inches higher than the garden so the castle now has a moat around it from the flooding. Wonder what tomorrows weather will be? How is it in the rest of the UK? fowlbird
coldish and sunny here in Berks - much rain forecast but it wasn't as bad as feared... I don't like the cold - my sturdy east anglian blood has gone all southernish on me and I can no longer cope...
Egluntyne
It ended up being quite a nice afternoon here. The sun came out now and then and all traces of snow have gone. Trouble is everywhere is very wet and there is a likelihood of freezing overnight.
