Pinkfairy
Hi, One of our girls seems to have retained a considerable amount of flid in her upper chest. We have begun to try syringing oil into her, not the easiet thing I have to say! Are we doing the right thing - the idea was to try and remove any blockages. Anyone out there had an experience with this or got any advice? She seems very heathly, bright, alert and eating well. Thanks in anticipation, Louise & Simon Amber Moonstone Socrates
The Dogmother
When you say 'upper chest' do you mean in her crop or the chest cavity?
Pinkfairy
Hi, It is in the chest cavity. Louise Amber Moonstone Socrates
The Dogmother
In that case, you need to get her to the vet; it doesn't sound brilliant. Fluid in the abdomen could be some form of peritonitis, but it the chest cavity is another matter completely.
Mrs Frugal
Pandora had a lot of fluid in her chest cavity and under her wing and when the vet examined her, he thought it might be due to an injury she received when the pecking order was being sorted out so it's a good idea to get her checked over just in case.
