Hi I was wondering whether anyone here lives in or near to Norwich? I am considering applying for a postgrad Msc at UEA and just wondered what the place was like?

Norwich is about an hour and a bit away on the train from where I live. It's a nice place, plenty of shopping, cafes, restaurants, pubs etc. It's very geared up for students. Always seems to be plenty going on and is popular with any students I have spoken to. A good friend of mine went to UEA and loved it.

Ok thanks for that I'm surprised how much cheaper rent there is compared to brighton - will make my life a lot easier!

I have spent a lot of time in and around Norwich in the past Rachel and I love the city - it reminds me of Oxford, which is near where I live now. You will be in the middle of a vibrant town with a good student life and also near to the countryside for weekend walks.

I live not far from Norwich and often pop in for some retail therapy, it's a great city, you'll love it. It's buzzing. Can't help with uni though, sorry !!

My brother went to UEA and loved it. I really like Norwich as a place and it's one of the only cities I feel at home in!

I have heard a lot of good things about it - will have to venture out there for a visit sometime to see if i like it

There are plenty of reasonably priced B&Bs in the area for you to stay in

I have several friends who studied at UEA and thoroughly enjoyed their time there. Norwich is a really nice city with lots to do and interesting places to visit.

 

I live in north Suffolk and have been in this area for nearly seventeen years now and I really love it.

I can really recommend East Anglia as a place to live. I grew up here and have come back after about 14 years away! I used to go to Norwich a lot when I was younger with my mum as she went to Uni there and it's one of those places we've not been organised enough to go to since we've been back in the area, as we're a lot closer to Cambridge.

 

Great area though - Apparently there is a sign when you go into the city saying

" Norwich - a fine city" so there we are

Norwich is a lovely city and the UEA has a great reputation. Good luck if you decide to go there.

Excellent thanks guys I finish my degree this year and then will need a year out to fund the masters degree so it will be a while before i get there - theres a good range of PhD's there as well so i may end up staying for a while!
