Tip for the day...:)

Recommended Posts

Ouch! Hope it feels better soon.

Another tip...

Don't let your children use their trampolines and surrounds as cricket nets.

My son always practices over head footballing kicks on the trampoline. One day he decided that the trampoline enclosure would also make a good practice net for cricket. This would not have been too bad except for the fact that he was bouncing at the same time, missed the cricket ball and whacked himself in the side of the head with the cricket bat. The lump and bruising was instant along with the screams.

You try explaining that one at casualty.

A few weeks later we had some child abuse training at work. The lady running the course was telling us that they look out for long winded stories that go off at tangents as a warning sign that abuse might have occured. I pointed out to her that we had to realise that this was not always the case. My son has autism and it took him a loonnngggg time and several detours around the houses to explain to the doctors what he had done to his head.

I have not made too many trips to A & E with the wee ones but, every time I do, I feel incredibly guilty :shameonu: - even though none of the injuries has been down to me (I hasten to add!)

I can just picture the scene when the cricket ball explanation was taking place!

OS broke his own nose by hitting himself in the face with his own squash racquet a few years ago. He also had 2 lovely black eyes as I recall.

lol xx That made me laugh!! :D My dad did that at Centerparcs!! He managed to knock himself out as well! Good times

My family went roller skating when I was about 10 at a Centre near us. My Dad was racing round the rink, chasing my brother, went over a bump in the floor, tripped, smacked his head on the floor and cut it open!

5 years before that, we were on holiday in the Isle of Wight, Dad was chasing brother, (yet again) went over a small cliff (only about 8 feet high, not Dover) and broke his knee!

The list goes on in our house.......:D
