OllieC
Hi all I've been reading your posts for a while but haven't had much to add ... until now! We took delivery of Uglu plus Fifi, Little Miss Chatterbox & Chicken today (my 3 yo daughter got to choose the names!)... It's now dark & pouring rain - I've rounded them up & put them in their house as they just didn't seem capable of working it out for themselves (nice warm house at one end of the run, rain at the other, it's getting dark, what to do... sit here in the rain clucking, of course!)... Perhaps I should have left them to work it out but they were getting wet & less & less happy... Anyway, hope they settle in & hi to you all!! Plum
Hello OllieC, Have you got omlet chickens?
badgerbluebadger
Don't worry my first two nights were hard - I had to climb in the run, catch them and put them to bed not very good. Next I tried the torch trick - which I shone in the and they followed the light and managed to get to bed. Then after four nights of fun I came home to find that had put themselves to bed! Bephlam
I'm sure they'll soon work out how to put themselves to bed when the notion takes them. You usually have to 'show them the way' for the first couple of nights, but they will surprise you how quickly they pick up new skills. Like, chasing you around at the mere sight of their treat tin...hopping up in to your lap for cuddles...Oh, and my favourite...the chicken rendition of the moon-walk, which scatters their bedding ALL OVER the garden! Oh the fun you will have...hours of endless entertainment!
