The Dogmother
Sorry to hear about your hen Scrambled It's not very infectious Kannie. My 'old Sadie' had leukosis in her liver, it caused sterile peritonitis, I had her abdomen drained a couple of times, but she still got worse and in the end I made the decision to have her put down while her quality of life was still reasonable. Gamebird
So sorry. Scrambled, to hear about your little girl. You did your very best for her and you obviously really care for your girls. There is nothing more you could have done.
The Dogmother
Don't worry Scrambled, you did your best. It's the hardest decision to make, but sometimes there's no kindness in keeping them alive. If it's any consolation, I always cry when one of our hens dies, even when we expected it.
