Guerrilla artist Banksy has opened his first official exhibition in New York. The fake pet shop aims to question "our relationship with animals and the ethics and sustainability of factory farming".

I was flicking through a fab book in HMV the other day which gave the locations of all his art.Its a shame some of it,like the maid,has been painted over

I dislike most graffiti, but I love Banksy The only thing of his that I had a problem with was when he had an art exhibition with live rats running all over the gallery floor

Took a brave person to go in and view.

I'm not really familiar with his work, but I have heard of him. Looks an interesting exhibition - I must look up more of his work!

Have to say the comlaints about the hotdogs made me laugh. They are hotdogs for goodness sake!

In his original home City of Bristol (no idea if he still lives there or not) Banksy started off with some simple stencil graffiti, you can still see it all over the place, he moved on to bigger projects and there are still a few around Bristol, if they are painted on houses the house is worth loads!

 

The Bristol public are used to seeing them now and many are prized by the local residents - Bristol City Council have got in to trouble with the public more than once after painting over Banksy's work in an attempt to regenerate an area!

 

Bansy once did a mural on someones 'house' (a large lorry trailer) at a festival some years back (after getting permission from its owners) they recently sold the trailer but I thought it was a crying shame when the purchaser split the trailer up in to panels and sold them as it kind of ruined the spirit of the work.
