Jonathon Ross/Russell Brand debacle

Recommended Posts

I'm personally not very impressed with Johnathan, as he was the one who originally made the comment. I obviously can't repeat what was said, nor can I post a link because of the language used.

I feel that Russell was just joining in, the comment wouldn't have been made if Johnathan hadn't said it in the first place.

Considering it was JR who started it all, Russell seems to have become a bit of a scape goat, he is less experienced and paid less than JR, who should know better - he has been too cowardly to even say anything himself putting a statement through his lawyer. Says it all really.

I totally agree with the above. I heard the show live on the Saturday night and Jonathan was making far more risque comments than Russell. Unfortunately for the latter, he has become the scapegoat that the BBC obviously wanted.

Someone who is paid £6m pa as opposed to Russell's more meagre £200,000 pa really should not look a gift horse in the mouth.

As for the Grandaughter (she who is so upset on her Grandfathers' behalf), she didn't seem to give "a lovely old man" much consideration with her humiliating behaviour prior to this story breaking. Me thinks its very convenient for her to now play the wronged victim. Free publicity and a lump sum into the bargain!! I think Andrew Sachs is the only totally innocent one in this mess.

The thing that has offended me most about this incident is that the BBC news gave it top billing last night and announced the news that one had resigned and the other suspended with the sort of grave and portentious air that would have been given to Gordon Brown dying or the queen abdicating.

If the BBC wants to get rid of performers who make offensive comments can they please make Chris Moyles go now?

I do not think JR is worth that figure at all :? We have been cheated  It has completely blown out of proportion. I suppose this is what happens when the British press gets hold of something :roll::roll:

hear hear  he's been getting away with it for years, but its his sense of humour and he gets away with it.

other news stories are more worthy of top billing now.

Hello

It said on the news tonight that over 30,000 complaints have been received from members of the public.

I think what they did was way out of order. They certainly have got far too big for their boots and deserve taking down quite a few pegs. They should be made to clean out a few chicken houses for their outspoken behaviour. I think their success has gone to their heads or may be their boots.

Sylvia

I heard earlier today that there have now been over 10,000 complaints about this incident! So there is definitely some strong feeling out there.

I think both can be funny at times, however, they can sail a little close to the wind and there is a line that should be drawn between humour and abuse.

I certainly do not think that Jonathon Ross should be paid the reported wage of £18 million of tax payers money - I do find this obscene.
