Guest
I'm thinking I need a food processor - I use my Magic Bullet mostly for mixing or icy drinks. I use Mums hand held Braun for mixing. But I don't have anything for large quantities, yesterday chopped for chutney in a piddly little thing - half an onion at a time - and it took ages. I was looking at this one http://www.johnlewis.com/Shopping/Product.aspx?Type=SKU&Id=230476307 I like the small size and I can't see the point of having a bigger footprint so both bits stand on together - I'm pretty sure I'd never be using both the chopper and the mixer simultaniously. Do you think it would be a good buy or do you have some other recommendations? I like to buy from John Lewis as I have £20 of vouchers for there so I will be forking out less of my hard earned cash. Egluntyne
I would recommend a Magimix. Mine is 10 years old and I use it all the time.

Guest
They look very nice but WAAAY out of my price range! JL only show one which is £349 on the search but you can then see others, cheapest I've seen on there is £179 . I'm definatley going to need to keep this under £50 at the moment - credit crunch and all that!
GreenGirl
jeez , sorry had no idea they were that much! Mine was a wedding mrk1 pressie, about the only thing i kept so glad I did now! I wonder when JL have their sale? might get something worthwhile in that if you can wait?
..lay a little egg for me
I would recommend a Magimix. Mine is 10 years old and I use it all the time. Before I had my Magimix, I had a cheap alternative. It was a belt-driven model. The belt soon got worn and started slipping and then the brushes burnt out. I have now had my magimix for nearly 20 years and it is still going strong!
Omletina Kyckling
We're all leading you astray here because I have to back the others and say I have a Magimix too. I had a cheaper one before that and it didn't last very long and I hardly ever used it. I love my Magimix though. Sorry!
Guest
I bought a Kenwood in the end - not the one I originally looked at but the next one up as it was only £10 more and did LOADS of extra things and even has a bigger motor, more settings etc. I saw the Magimixes but my budget really doesn't stretch that far so they weren't an option. I just need something to chop now!
