I seem to have totally misread the ingredients list for Cinammon's cranberry vodka.

Instead of 100 grams I seemed to remember 500 grams when I went shopping.

What can I do with a kilo and a half of dried sweetened cranberries? Anybody got any recipes?

I threw some in with my fruit which is now soaking for Christmas cakes.... and am planning for some to go into Christmas pudds and maybe even mincemeat.

 

DH has just been in and disappeared with a huge handful, so they won't last long enough for another bottle of Cinnamon's Spicy Vodka to get going!!

 

Forgot to get the fresh ones this afternoon when I went shopping, for Cinnamon's Apple & Cranberry Chutney Can't go shopping tomorrow as my newly spayed baby will need (well will get!!) constant attention to keep her calm with the other 2 muppets in close attendance!

I couldnt remember the recipe, so I got lots

 

i thought id just make loads of vodka and give it at christmas presents

Could I ask a bit of silly question?

 

Can I make the vodka in a bottle and then decant into nice ones for pressies, or does it need to 'brew' in the bottle it stays in?

 

(or maybe i just need to be patient and wait til my nice ones turn up )

I used an olive oil bottle to make it in and then decanted when it was finished.

umm, it looks very murky, is that ok or did I over squish the prunes getting them in the bottle

It turns red quite quickly, so shouldn't look murky for long

It is never a crystal clear brew this one - even when its done its a bit murky,but the tast more than makes up for it

I will post a piccy of my finished bottles if you like,so you can see the colour it ends up.

I now have 8 litres of cranberry vodka on the go

I found some "distilled grain spirit" in Aldi for £4.45 a bottle.

Hope I don't poison anybody with it

You wouldn't believe how many people want some of this!!

It's going in my hampers and I have 12 to do.

 

I'll be lucky to have half a bottle for me.

Managed to collect enough sloes for ONE bottle this year and that's ALL MINE!!!!!

 

Cinnamon, your recipe is wonderful. I have the first batch in a demijohn and the colour already is gorgeous.

Do you have to keep it in the dark like sloe gin?
