What a race!

Recommended Posts

Amazing finish

Best drama I've seen in years - beats anything coming out of the BBC costume dept by a country mile!

So exciting

Well done Lewis!

And all us petrol heads have top gear to look forward to later!!!!

You should have heard me yell at the TV

Mum could hear me from her lounge (Which is miles away!)

James was getting quite disturbed - when Vittel got in front I yelled NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and jumped out of my seat like a bloke does when his football team does something stupid (like play a game!) :? . Poor little muppet thought I was telling him off!!!:oops:

Amazing race, but I can't wait for next year when there will be NO ADVERTS!! It drives me around the bend when they keep stopping for adverts!!

I felt sorry for Massa, but I thought it was funny when they were all jumping up and down in the Ferrari pits thinking he'd won, they they realised that Hamilton had done it!!

........still miss Schumi though.....

I@m looking forward to the return to the BBC too for exactly the same reason. I'd just got it sorted for ITV though - record it on Sky+ and start watching 20 mins after the programme starts then you can ff the ads and end up watching live by the end!

Life is going to be a lot simpler with Auntie back in the driving seat though.

I thought the crowd were rather unsporting to still be boo ing at the end of the race, before there was psychology in it but after was just being poor losers.

Phew!!!!!!! brilliant race! :D:D:D

I had to go with Carl to walk Jazz just so that I could cool down...and calm down! (and calm Jazz down - she wondered what she'd done wrong as well Pengy  )

I'll be glad to be rid of the adverts as well  - in Romania they have a split screen when the adverts are on, so you don't miss any of the race......it's hardly rocket science surely?

Did you see Massa crying...? :(

...

I know, bless him, he's soooooooooooooooooooo cute, I wanted to give him a huge hug. He was a good loser though. He said himself, "I know how to win and I know how to lose...that's racing" I thought he was very gracious. It must have been such a crushing blow, thinking he had won the championship on his own soil.

Well done Lewis though! :D:clap:

I think they would have been hard pushed to prove Glock slowed down to let Hamilton win. He had no reason to let Hamilton win over Massa. Also the commentators were willing Glock to crash - he hadn't changed his tyres when it started raining - under those circumstances how you you say he didn't slow down for safety - those cars are a pig to handle in the wet with the wrong tyres on, we all saw that a few weeks ago when everyone ended up crashing!

I missed the race as we were in London  So we watched the highlights today. I knew the results before watching it but I was still on the edge of my seat :oops::lol:

Yesterday's Daily Mirror.....so it must be true. :D

May I hasitly point out that we don't buy it!!

Clocked it on a newspaper vendors stall at the station yesterday.

Summat to do with one of the other drivers dropping back deliberately, and betting scams.

Nothing to do with our dear Lewis.

True as anything! Shame you don't buy it though as I'm supposed to be featured in an article in there soon, mind you they've still not sent a photographer so they may have changed their mind. TBH when I was being interviewed I was struggling to make anything sound right for the Mirror - I could hear myself coming out far too "middle class" - would be better in the Telegraph methinks!

Well, i'm a die-hard Ferrari fan so i'm gtted for Massa. I never support a sportsperson just because of their country of origin and i really don't like McLaren or Lewis. I'm not sure he would have accepted defeat as graciously as Massa did.

Roll on next season, with all the new regulations things should get really interesting.

I've been waiting for you to come on Helly Welly, I remember our chat at the Leicester get together and I didn't think you'd be cheering for Hamilton! I agree with you about not supporting somebody just because of their country of origin. I remember during the Hill/Schumacher years how the British press pumped Hill up to be something he wasn't i.e. a great driver, fortunately I was living in Sweden so wasn't affected by any of it and therefore became a lifelong admirer of Schumi and really miss him in today's F1.

I didn't support Hamilton earlier in the season, as I too like Ferrari, but I think some of the stewards decisions against him were rather ridiculous towards the end, and Ferrari seemed to get away with things, then when lots of drivers came out and said they'd do whatever they could to help Massa and stop Hamilton from winning, I decided to back Hamilton as it was almost like the rest of them ganging up on him and was almost on the verge of bullying. I think that either of the two drivers would have been worthy champions, though.

I also think a lot of British fans have short memories when they are saying how wrong it was that the Brazilian crowd were booing Hamilton - I was at Silverstone many years ago and the crowd were booing Senna (and cheering for Mansell) and when Senna spun out, the crowd went bonkers cheering, so I think that would have happened anyway....having said that, I didn't think it was right!!

I agree with you, I think next year will be exciting, and there is a lot of talent out there, Vettel, Kubica, Bourdais to name but three.....and a young Brazilian by the name of Senna is about to test for Honda.....
