redfrock
something that I think I can openly ask on here... if you have handed in your notice can you retract it? or can your employer legally tell you where to go? Even f they have not even started the recruitment process yet
GreenGirl
There is nothing stopping you retracting your notice (which should be done in writing) but the company do not have to let you stay. If the letter has been "received" ie opened etc i think the employer had the right to claim you had resigned. There is no harm in asking but if the employer wants to take the view you are on the way out there is little you can do. If however the letter is simply on its way around the office and hasn't been opened they may be able to intervene. I know some companies will not keep anyone who has shown that much interest in leaving, but it comes down to your relationship with your manager and the HR process, and how much. Sounds messy
