Madbird
... at how quickly my chickens have become so friendly! I know it is probably only my corn and mealworms they are after, but as soon as they here the patio door open, then come running.. then follow me to the shed (where their food is kept).. giving me those 'give me mealworm' eyes! lol They are so funny. A couple of them even peck on patio door now, if they think I have ignored them for too long! All but Dusty and Lady Legbar (fiesty woman that she is) also seem quite happy for me to pick them up and stroke them. I didn't realise they would be such interacitve pets! yes yes, ok.. I am smitten
bigmommasally
You're very lucky, mine come running when they see me but they're only thinking of their tummies Doris and Gwen just about tolerate being picked up but soon get flappy, Maude and Mary high tail up the garden if they think I might try and even touch them! Alice has suddenly become a bit more friendly this last week, not exactly seeking out cuddles but happier to be stroked, I even managed to give her a bath on Sunday to clean her mucky bottie - Oh lucky me!! Plum
Its all cupboard love. Mine now climb on my lap but not kidding myself - its for the corn I am holding above my head. Still love that feeling of their little feet and cooing.
Fur 'n' Feathers
As soon as we start down the garden, if they're in the run, Kilo launches at the end panel with gusto so we can hear a boing, boing as we approach. She's an absolute terror, even standing on our feet. She also bounces about 2 feet into the air if we have food in our hands, as if she's on a bungie. We're thinking of filming it on our camera! Some people look at you as if you're mad for keeping chickens, but they don't know what they're missing - they are such funny little characters
Plum
with such little brains! Gave them a bowl of spaghetti. One took a piece and ran off with two in hot pursuit, silly birds

sambee
I have to admit I was taken by surprise at how interactive you can be with a chicken. Two we've had since chicks Benji and Peggy run to greet us at the end of the run, they're not scared to be around and seem to enjoy being petted. Will fall asleep in front of the fire on our laps. I love that! I really want to see this video of bungie chickens, i can't quite imagine it yet. Hehe
