blackgold
My 3 exbatts are laying 2 eggs a day. today i got a really pale egg. Not white but very different from previous eggs. Should I be worried?
ruth1
I get that every so often from my girls the Eggs are often a different shade, I dont think its much to worry about, im sure eggs are meant to get paler as a chicken ages. I also have had a really pale egg after worming but it soon went back to normal.
Snowy
The colour is added last, so sometimes you will get a paler egg. If it is persistent it can be a sign of worms, or just old age. With paler eggs, the shells are often thinner.
dancing cloud
I don't think it's anything to be concerned about, as my ex-batt monsters all lay very different eggs and always have done. Clover's are very dark brown, Daisy's almost white, Hope's pale brown and round, Chance's pale brown and bullet-shaped, Joy's medium brown and speckledy at one end (and Dandelion's are invisible ). All the same type of hen, all fed the same thing and kept the same way - all very different eggs. At least it's easy to tell who's laid what .
