But it's not necessarily any safer to eat pork labeled as British if it's from certain large supermarkets either The supermarket supplier that my OH used to work for were often told to meet demand any way they could, even if that meant buying in foreign pork to go into products labeled as british pork. Lesley Posted December 8, 2008 Share Posted December 8, 2008 True Fred but still worrying - as the contaminant was in the feed then it could be anywhere.............we were feeding organic pig feed to our pigs until September when they went off but even being organic might not be a guarantee that there was no problem with the feed I suppose We certainly won't be clearing our freezer though.......... Outdoor reared local for me too. I get my pork from http://www.sillfield.co.uk/animals.html#1 Supports local farmers as well and they need all they can get.
