One thousand eggs!!!

Recommended Posts

Well, we have passed the milestone of 1,000 eggs :D . I've had the girls for just over 15 months. We've missed a few days thanks to broodiness and a 3 week softie spree but the girls done well  .

Thanks to Suzy for this:

being in sales I did a payout analysis and worked out they needed to turn out 1,182 eggs for the cost of the eglu vs cost of eggs that i would buy in Sainsburys (and I'd always have bought free range!) In a month, we've had 69 eggs, so at this rate in 17 months the eglu and the chooks will have paid for themselves,

If you factor in all the little extras, it'll only be another 3 years before they really have paid for themselves  .
