Hendy
I've had my chickens for about 6 weeks now and I realise I don't know what breed they are! I picked them because the person who sold them to me said they were probably the friendliest around children. They are not too big and the one that started laying last week has laid eggs of 37g and they are a very light brown, maybe cream colour. They have feathered feet too which probably helps. I've tried to attach a photo below but not sure if it will work. Thanks! http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/mim.berry/Chickens#
moochoo
Are they bantams or full size? The fluffy feet suggest they might be Pekins. To be honest it's quite a small piccie and hard to tell. I'm sure someone clever will be along soon.
likeastar--x
smallest one on the right of the pic looks just like my black pekin bantam.
tom123
Nearly def they are pekins as my friend has cuckoo one which looks exactly like that! Very cute whatever they are!!! Tom
Egluntyne
They do look like Pekins. Lucky you. Welcome to the forum.
Hendy
Thank you all! I shall assume they are Pekins. I have no idea whether they are bantams or not, they are only just coming in to lay so not sure they are totally full grown yet. They are a bit on the small side though so I suspect they may be. Thanks
moomin
You can't get Pekins as full sized hens (I don't think! ) so they will def be bantams. They are very nice
The Dogmother
The back two are definitely pekins, can't see enough of the one in front to be sure. Enjoy your new girls.

SAB
I also think pekin bantams and yes, this breed only comes in this size - small but perfectly formed! You won't get as many eggs as from larger birds or hybrids and the eggs you get will be small, but great for baking due to a high yolk to white ratio. Fantastic birds. We only got one when we got our chooks as had been wanting layers, but love our Tallulah (lavender pekin bantam) so much that we would love a flock of pekins one day - fiesty and friendly, real characters. Enjoy them!
