Katyed
Not being very fond of boiled eggs we have owned our hens for many months without trying to boil one. This weekend however we needed hard boiled eggs for a receipe and the eggs were taking forever to boil so we looked it up and apparently fresh eggs take longer to boil! Does anyone have any times for boiling fresh eggs?
kez
Hi Katyed I boil and hard boil lots of and haven't noticed any time difference between the fresh and the shop . If your hens are larger than the shop it would make a difference. Our are 60g-75g. What a lot of
mostin
The difference we have found is that fresh eggs are really hard to peel. We always use our oldest eggs for boiled eggs and even then they can be a bit of a swine. I guess it just goes to show you how old the eggs are that we get in the supermarkets, that peel so easily. Seagazer
I noticed the thicker membrane when I first got my girls but as you say, really makes you wonder about the shop ones - yuk!
