One of my most favourite shops in the whole world has gone bust (I pressume) & are having a huge closing down sale .

It is a huge shame.

The shop in Reading is always really busy too.

I have some of my most favourite things in my home from there. A wonderful painted blanket box, a mirror, my nice bright christmas bauble wreath ,not to mention their wonderful candles which I have everywhere.

 

I will go & take a look & try to stock up on cinnamon scented candles tomorrow.

I went into the one in Festival Place last week and it was as though Locusts had been at it. All the shelves were bare and there was a huge queue! Really sad. I think that this time next year, half of the shops in our centre will be empty!

There'll be nothing left. I only heard about the Pier closing down on Monday evening. I'd been in the one in Basingstoke about 2 weeks ago when they had 30% off- I'd just presumed it was just because everyone seems to be having sales. The staff were really friendly and happy too

 

I got a jewellery box for DD, some Christmas crackers, and some little choccie gifts for DDs friends.

That's awful, I love the pier.

I was in Kingston last weekend but didn't think of looking in the Bentall Centre.

There is an Apple store there and that for me is an instant pocket emptier so as I had DH with me I gave it a miss. Pity

What I did do is buy some small Woolworth own brand things each with a separate receipt and they are safely wrapped up.

You never know, in fifty years time?

I'm always surprised how much toys similar to the ones I threw away as a child fetch at auction.

Just back from The Pier.

Very sad experience.I know some of the staff there pretty well, & they are all stoic,but upset.None have jobs to go to.

 

I got a few gift wrap bits & bobs & a divine teal sequin cushion cover to pop away for devons birthday.

That's such a shame... I think it's particularly sad when it affects shops where the staff are always helpful and freindly, like The Pier.
