FlyingRamses
Apologies for my male aggression but they should be given a good kicking for doing this, makes me sick. Of course you would end up in jail and they would claim thousands in compensation off you for stress. That is the state of the country we live in!! Sorry . . . . rant over. If this happened to me I regret I probably would be the one in jail, out of pocket, but probably happy I had retaliated!!! I like the idea of tying the culprit down on the floor with no clothes on and putting hens favourite food all over him/her when they are really hungry and letting hens tuck in, I bet they would never go near a hen again!!! Hope no-one is offended by my strong views on this, happy new year to you all!! FR
Egluntyne
Hard though it is, it is probably best to put this awful incident behind you and move on. Easily said I know. Also best not to antagonise the local bad boys/girls, for fear of further reprisals. They will get their cumuppance in the end. Also, you never know who is reading items on this forum. The person who did this may well get a buzz from seeing the upset s/he has caused. Don't give them the satisfaction.....and believe in Karma.....it is very consoling to do so. Have a Happy and Peaceful New Year Emma. xx

The Dogmother
Egluntine is right - and I take solace in karma too.... move on Emma and don't let them pull you down or they will have won. cx

Guest
I'm so saddened that you're not getting more support from the police and that you're the one that should have to even consider "reprisals". It should be these 'people' (I use the term loosely) that should be afraid. There's definitely something wrong with the law! Hope you're okay Emma and your friends and family are easing the hurt, I haven't stopped thinking about you and poor Frenchie. I'm not that far away so if you fancy a visit and a sympathetic shoulder, just PM me xxxx

TheChookKeeper
How easy would it be to design a lock for the Cube and Eglu eggports, I wonder? Hello all, As some may remember, I have had 2 seperate thefts of my chooks from their Eglu. Once in daylight, they took them through the run door, and once at night through the egg port. Police were helpful first time, and put me in touch with a lady who had found some chickens in a nearby park. Turns out the idiots that stole them did so for fun, and just "freed" them in the park - this lady found some of hers at the same time (stolen same night), and took mine in too, as they were being harrassed by a dog. Second time around, the Police couldn't have cared less - they couldn't even be bothered to send one of the community support people around to tell me what I could do to stop further intrusions. I never did get the 2 that were stolen 2nd time around back. Anyway - on Gallina's question about security on the Eglu, I suggested to Omlet a while ago that integrating a lock into the egg port door would be good - they said they would look into it. In the meantime, I had my very handy Dad come around and sort out some fort-knox-style security on my Eglu. I will try and take some pictures tomorrow, and I will get them up in a new thread for you to take a look at. All the padlocks look awful, and it is a real pain - but I haven't had any thefts since! (despite a couple of attempts!) (touch wood!) Oh - and sorry to almost forget you, Emma, sorry for your loss - I know how you feel. Damn nasty little idiots ought to be round up and SHOT. emily95
So sorry to hear your sad news and that the police aren't doing anything! Hopefully the vandals will have a terrible 2009 and be made to pay for their behaviour. (((Hugs))))) and here's hope that your 2009 will be more peaceful.
