Chicken Stolen!

Recommended Posts

I got up at 8ish to let the chickens out - went to the enclosure at the front & the gate was open.. :? Went to the shed & the doors were pushed to, but no bolt on and no latches on. :? Opened the doors & the chickens were reluctant to come out. They eventually did for a few oats, but Frenchie our Welsummer was not there. I flew inside to hubby, absolutely sobbing. He thought one had died, but this is worse.

Frenchie has been stolen.

A regular came for eggs & said that there was a comootion at 1.30am this morning & the police came. One of the apartments upo the road had had a party & it got truly out of hand. He said that there is glass everywhere. We told him of our stolen chicken & he said that there were also feathers in front of these apartments where the party was. I dread to think what they have done to her. These are fully grown adults!!!!

We have been round the estate of luxury apartments & put signs on the lamp posts, looked in bins, under bushes. We have also seen the glass everywhere & poor Frenchies feathers. They are only like bum fluff feathers, no wing feathers or blood. But I think they have been playing with her & goodness knows what else. I hope we get her back as the others aren't the same without her & we are dev  stated to lose one of our pets to a vandal !

oh Emma that's terrible, I'm so sorry!

I'd be banging on the door of that apartment and getting them to find out which one of their "guests" stole your girl and what they did with her!!!

sorry to hear that emma ((HUGS)) to you. Hope she turns up safe and well.

Did you call out the police or were they out when the party was out of hand at 1.30??

If you didn't call them I would and get them to go round to where the party was and talk to these "people" about what happened her.

My goodness Emma, I'm so sorry. I'm not sure where about in Cheshire you are but I'll most definetly keep an eye out for her just in case. We are the only people in our little town with chickens that we know of, I'm sure if someone finds her they'll give us a ring.

I'll keep my fingers X'd for you.

We are going out again soon to look for her & taking some sweetcorn with us. I know it sounds daft. Today has been horrid for us. It has been reported to the police after we noticed her missing & also the Xmas lights on the bush have been ripped up. I don't care about the lights, I just want Frenchie back! The police were very good & sympathetic. The officer that arrested the drunk & disorderly people from the 'ther' incident is not on until later tonight. We might know more then. It is going in the local chronicle the police have said. I just hope she wasn't tortured or roasted. She will be terrified if she is still alive.

I'm going to glare at the windows of them posh flats. Someone knows something. They will be in & sobered up by now!

We have scattered a sweetcorn trail & looked for her - there is no sign of her. I'm thinking that she has been tortured & murdered. The policeman that arrested the people at the party aren't on until later (the night shift). We are going to be rung by the police within 24hrs. So anytime between now & tomorrow morning. I hope the police officer saw our chicken when he made the arrests & he can shed some light on what they have done to her.

It's a horrid night here. We are supposed to be away for New Year & I don't want to go.

I am so sorry Emma (((((hugs)))))) I do hope that you find her safe and well. I am gobsmacked that somebody would do this  Is it obvious that you keep chickens or do you think that whoever was holding the party knew? Thinking of you and keeping everything crossed for a safe return :pray:
