New to Home Growing? - Cheap Seeds!

Recommended Posts

These companies sell cheap seeds

http://www.alanromans.com

http://www.kingsseeds.com (the address on this one is correct but it doesn't seem to be working at the mo)

http://www.moreveg.net

One or two of these sell smaller packs of seed so that you can buy lots of varieties which is great if you are new to growing veg and are not sure what will grow well on your plot or don't know what you will like the taste of.

Experimenting will be fun - after all who wants to eat the same carrots year in and year out just because they bought a mega pack of seeds in 2005?

Moreveg deserve a special mention, I ordered my seeds new years day and received them today! the compliment slip even had a handwritten message on it - I am a sucker for good service so will be using them again :D

just checked out Moreveg and looks good and with the recommendation from redwing looks like this will be where I will be buying my seeds from as only have a small plot and don`t need 1000 carrot seeds!!!

One question though Redwing, do the seeds come with instructions? eg sow and plan out times etc?

Moreveg send them in no-frills clear re-sealable bags (another plus) with a slip of blue paper inside giving the sowing and planting out instructions - they do include some cooking tips on some of them (yet another plus!)

Edited to say - another plus is that they have collections for you to sow at different times of the year, at the moment obviously the offer is an early sowing collection 6 packs of seeds for £2.50

another plus! they recommend what you can sow this month on a tab on the left of the screen

I'm a UK Customer Service Manager - it takes a LOT to impress me! I am always writing to companies telling them how bad their service is!

you should know then that writing to these people makes not a ha'peth of bloomin' difference!:lol:
