Ordered my cube today and I can have it Friday and they'll build it. I've just got to phone back and decide which colour we want by lunch time.

 

Think I'll have purple.

great news, I have purple - good choice as I find the darker coloured eglu's & cubes are better in the summer (stays darker inside for longer = hens not up so early! )

Well i suppose purple is in between both colours..

 

But you don't see many red ones.. (or what i have seen)

Sorry for the delay - no not here yet.

 

Omlete phoned to see if they could change the delivery until this morning but I couldn't so it's coming on Wednesday.

 

Although I can't wait it's only going to sit empty until we get our new hens, which at the earliest won't be until the end of next week but more likely to be the second week in Feb.

However not sure I can wait until mid Feb so may end up paying more just to get some girls a bit earlier.

 

I guess I must be sad as to keep me going i've been checking out the site for interior photo's.

 

We've made the run bigger. So although not a walk in run (1.20m high)the floor space is now 17ftx5. I've thought about attaching the odd shelve so that there is more space and some perches accross the corners not sure if you peeps think that's a good idea, mirror at one end and may be get one of those feed ball things.

 

I'm still looking at getting 6 hens although still not sure if I'm pushing my luck by going for 6 rather than 5.

I would definitely get some perching areas for them - mine jump about in their branches all day, they love them!

mine love their branches as well!.. they are always up there, they jump on you for treats from a height.. I dont mind them throwing themselves in my arms though..

our original 3 won't perch at all, they're the laziest chickens you've ever seen

the new chicks will though and probably just as well as they're moving in with the others some time this week.

to be honest mine didn't for ages!, then all of a sudden thats the only place they like to be unless you have porridge, sweetcorn, grapes etc etc etc and then beware flying chicken.. :lol:

Mine love their branches and i will include more in my extension and a shelf think you can see the branches in the pic they are at the front!

 

oops no you can't see them really lol and they have a tree stump too

we are adding more, and more branches as we find them, we also have a log pile which they root around in and love! and two curved roof tiles and they stand on those with their heads in the air if they hear you coming from the kitchen..
