just read this??? Tea tree

Recommended Posts

Essential OILS- There are hundreds of volatile

oil compounds that make up the pleasing smell of

MANY of the plants. Problems occur when the oil

is concentrated, then ingested. Pennyroyal, parsley seed,

and nutmeg seed are potentially toxic to the liver

and kidney if used in overabundance- NEVER use in pregnancy.

The most common TOXIC herbal reaction that I see

is with Tea Tree Oil being used topically in

Cats and Small dogs- they INGEST it and become ILL.

AVOID Tea Tree Oil in Cats and IF your dog can lick the

area.

I use it exactly the same as Sarah, tea tree diluted very well and mixed with water & lavender is very good in the summer as a fresher spray around the run, also helps with flies. 8)

I would also use it very sparingly and well diluted on a minor cut if I didnt have anything else to hand. :)

I recently bought a tea tree oil spray for poultry from flyte so fancy, so can't be too bad - think it's the concentration that's important.

This is what I use too so assume its diluted as a very safe level.

Maybe people have applied it neat to their pets which is why there could be a problem.

rekon so but it's best for all to be aware. You CAN apply it neat to yourself, but some people have a bad reaction to it. It is wonderful stuff. kills MSRA to I understand but can't be used as not made by pharmasutiucals (sp?) and therefore not recognised!

where what? the spell checker?

when you type can you see a red line under some words? that's the spell checker querying your spelling - beware because some dictionaries are American...

OTOH if you can't see any red lines it's either because your spelling is perfect or else I have spell checker because I'm using firefox - never quite sure about these things...

any more questions - just ask
