I thought you are currently doing an MSc and have asked for OUR help in keeping you off the forum? When do you manage to find the time for making beautiful quilts, when you are being a loving chook-mum, All Knowing Superchicken and top intelligencia type?! I LURVE your siamese, btw! Plum
Thanks. Florence kitten is a pest but at least she appreciates what I do. Now to start no.2 I have some lovely soft pinks, cream and greens so it'll be a bit more traditional. But do you think these fabrics are a bit old for a baby? Her mum's not a trendy young thing.Haven't decided on pattern yet, I can spend this evening looking through mags and books

Chickvic
Not in this life time. Mine are 8 and 11 and DH very kindly got sorted. Maybe you could make me a 'new chicken' quilt I'd keep it on my bed to admire, actually I'd put it on the back of my sofa for everyone to admire! Snowy
I think those colours are gorgeous! I'm just about to start my next one (more of a s"Ooops, word censored!" quilt to practise different blocks) and am aiming to use lots of those shades. Fizzle Knit
Your quilt is beautiful. I would love to make a quilt but having looked into it realised it's even harder than it looks. Well done!
Plum
No try, Its only cutting fabric up and sewing together again. Start simple, use old fabrics and cut strips and sew together, put a bit of fabric around the edge and you have a cushion front. Make a layer with a piece of fabric for the back and a bit of wadding for the middle. A few stitches to hold it together and you have a quilt. The one I am doing now is just strips like that. Fizzle Knit
Well I do have a patchwork bag kit that I was supposed to be making my sister as a Christmas present - it will now have to be a birthday present - this years hopefully! Snowy
Well I do have a patchwork bag kit that I was supposed to be making my sister as a Christmas present - it will now have to be a birthday present - this years hopefully! There is a very good course on patchworking at East Carlton Park near Corby, most evenings, mornings or just an all day Saturday. Let me know if you want details! There is a very good course on patchworking at East Carlton Park near Corby, most evenings, mornings or just an all day Saturday. Let me know if you want details! Interesting, but where's Corby? I assume you don't mean the Northants one? I did find a course very close to home, at the Mary Clare knitting/sewing shop but at a time I just can't manage. (Which is probably just as well given all the knitting projects I still have in line! ) But if you have a website link, I'd be interested to have a look
Snowy
No website i'm afraid, she's a bit in the dark ages, but a very good teacher! The courses are run in conjunction with BeeInspired http://www.beeinspired.co.uk/ so she has a small shop adjoining the classrooms where you can browse for fabric and all the things to go with it! And yes, it's near Corby in Northants. I'm doing an evening course at the moment, but she does Saturday workshops where you complete a project in a day. If you want to learn, it is worth doing a course - I've being doing the teach yourself route for many years, but I could've done it a lot quicker with some good instruction under my belt!
