Orange Cube & my clever girls

Recommended Posts

Having done the Cube jig for the past week, time to tell you all about it ....

Construction began with a vengeance and was relatively straightfoward - very clear instructions - even for a technophobe like me .... and I managed the whole thing on my own!

The girls, especially Tiki, were intrigued and kept "helping" ...

.... and a couple of hours later they had a shiny new home inside their new walk-in-run!

The first night, I put Tiki (ex-batt :eh: ) and Matilda (short legs  ) on the top rung of the ladder; Pepper managed as though she'd used a ladder every day of her life (I reckon she was a window cleaner in a previous life  ). The very next evening, they were all lauding it up already "in bed" (and looking very smug!) when I went to check on them - how good is that?! My girls are so clever .... I was like a new mum telling everyone "my girls can use their ladder after only 1 day ....." and I got the old  from most who don't understand the importance of such issues to us chicken-people.

Also, a massive  to Omlet - I have done my first clean-out today - how easy with the plastic roosting bars and the whole thing sliding and coming apart. Nice one

No looking back now and plenty of room for more clever girls
