Chickvic
I'm no expert but looking at the wattles and comb I would have said he. Very well developed.

andrewandcarly
ive just put him (hugo) on his own for tonight to see if he lays an egg tomorrow morning!!
Janty
I have a HEN that looks like Hugo but she is an ex batt and her hormones have gone wild. You could be lucky though...the tail end isn't that flamboyant.
Janty
Ooo...I don't know though.
Cooks
I am not very good but I was leaning more he and than she.
craftyhunnypie
I would say she. She has a tail like one of my black rocks! I would also say that she might not have laid because of the cold weather. If it is a he however, he may not crow due to another cockerel in the vicinity who is more dominant. That has happened twice to me. But I do think it's a girl. Emma.x
Cooks
well I said he because of the way he/she is standing and in another thread it was pointed out to be a possible boys stance.... am still learning though..
Madbird
I think boy cos of the hackle feathers looking pointy??
chelsea
Im convinced its a boy....sorry. All the pictures look "cockerel" to me, he/she has very long legs. However, if it turns out female there's hope for me with my "is it or isnt it a cockerel scenario" Am also pleased to hear at 8 months you havent heard a crow.......which means I could have months yet... Egluntyne
Everything says boy to me. The stance, the wattles and comb, the hackle feathers. There is even a spur developing on the left leg. (Having said that, one of my girls has an impressive set).
Autumn
Definately as boy.....more chance of me laying an egg i think!!
feemcg
What breed is it?.......looks like a Leghorn girl to me Looking back your posts I see they're Barnevelders, in which case prob a boy......the boys don't have the defined 'lacing' of the girls, a lot more black, but would have thought he would have more droopy saddle feathers by now. Good pics here http://www.kippengrabbelton.be/ Click on rassenparade in the pale yellow section, then scroll down the menu on the left for barnevelder pics. andrewandcarly
well he has 'cock a doodled' a few times over the last few days so i think it is safe to say he is a boy
Cooks
bless him, he probably thought all this speculation over whether I am a he or she, I'll show them!!
