Have a look at this.. what a narrow-minded man!

children get head lice from chickens.

the same is said of hedgehogs, oddly enough

keeping a single chicken is cruel.

anyone here keep a single chicken?

You cannot keep a cockerel in a suburban back garden.

I bet he also believes that to get eggs you need a cockerel

Chicken-keeping always involves chicken wire, unless you propose to clip through the wing ligaments with a pair of cutters to stop your chickens flying.

 the only bit cut through is like a finger nail

Chickens attract rats

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Her Maj (Gawd bless 'er) doesn't keep chickens but SHE HAS RATS AT BUCK HOUSE!

Chickens have to be shut in at dusk. Every day. Without fail.

Chickens have to be let out at daybreak.

Chickens go broody

there are ways of managing this, I don't know any because I've never had a broody hen

Even just one chicken will trash a back garden.

:whistle::whistle: then again, we have Omlet and walk-in runs and all sorts :D

Children do not like chickens

no one told the kids around here that

Chickens do not like kids

no one told our chickens that

he's a :liar: eejit isn't he?

Ummmmm. Sorry if I offend anyone, but I think he was joking!

I think lots of what he said was quite true. - Not the head lice bit and cutting through tendons obviously - which makes me think he has at least a little bit of knowledge about chickens.

My garden HAS been trashed (well the half we gave to the chickens) and it is also mud in winter, dust in summer.

Foxes - we all know about those.

Lots of people don't realize chickens hate to be on their own or need to be in at dusk and out at dawn.

Give the man a break. He prefers dogs!

I took it as being tongue in cheek...hope it's meant to be like that, think he was having a pop at chicken-keepig being fashionable.
