redhotchick
I've been out shopping this morning and came in to find 3 letters from my credit card company. Upon opening them I find that I am in arrears! I've had this card for 4 years and it has a direct debit set up. I've already phoned this company 3 times this year, it's an 0845 nr. So I probably have to pay for that (my calls are through Sky Talk) I've just spent another 20 minutes on the phone to them insisting that they refund me the £12 charge they is showing on my bill. I'm so fed up with them. Fortunately I'm in a position where I could transfer the balance, (less the £12 which I've been told would be refunded) so I've done this as I don't trust them to sort this out anytime soon. I think I will write to them confirming my call to them today. I was fuming! and I'd had such a pleasant morning up until then!
missuscluck
Take a big deep breath It'll sort out. Its very annoying trying to get through to someone who can help you.
Guest
use www.saynoto0870.com to get a landline number so you're not paying silly prices for the call

Redwing
Don't forget to double check in a short while for interest and card protection fees going on to your old card as it goes on a while after it has been incurred (this amount will be legitimate) I 'cleared' a credit card only to find it had £80 on it a few months later because of the interest plus all the charges I had incurred for not opening the bills (as I thought they would read £0! ) If anyone else is ceasing to use an old card always ask for a final balance over the phone as they will add in anything that would later get added to the current balance I can't believe a credit card company would be prepared to lose someone over £12 - more fool them and well done you! redhotchick
I just don't trust anything they tell me on the phone. The only free phone nr I could find was for "lost or stolen cards". Would you use this anyway?
Clur
Credit cards My cc company have just put my interest up to 32.9% - so much for trying to pay it off, I am just about covering the interest..... Get everything they tell you on the phone in writing, a mistake I am learning from

Would you use this anyway? You don't need a freephone number just a landline number an 01 number. You should get free calls to landlines on your home phone package. Personally I find freephone numbers as annoying as the othres as I use my mobile so calls to landlines are free, calls to mobiles are free but freephone numbers are NOT!
