Does anyone have

Recommended Posts

I haven't got either, but I am on a list for a Silver Grey Dorking - I posted on here last week and "Ooops, word censored!"ody has said they own one as yet. I have seen them and they are big heavy birds, only limited eggs (120-150) and usually spring and early summer only - but white eggs.

My books tell me docile and need to be kept active as they eat a lot.

The Dorking Club costs £5 a year to join.

Good luck!

Tracy

Hi - I have 2 Vorwerks. I find them to be the most outgoing of my small brood. They are now about 8 months old. They are always the first to run down the garden to meet me when I emerge from the back door. They talk to me all the time and are the easiest to handle. They started to lay just before Christmas but are not the most prolific. Their eggs are whitish but not much bigger than my bantams (but that maybe because my bantams are laying big eggs

They are nicely marked birds - not as big as the Barnevelders. I would recommend them.

I have two silver dorkings, Gwyneth and Dilys. They are my friendliest chickens of the bunch and follow me around everywhere. Great foragers, and also the most inqusitive and adventurous. I believe they can be a bit prone to respitory (can't spell) infections but I haven't had any problems with mine. As long as you clean them out frequently so it doesn't get too dusty.

I would definately recommend them.

We got one of each on Sunday, although our silver dorking doesn't look like Michelle's. She's got the 5 toes though :) At the moment they are very timid but very nearly ate some corn out of my hand this afternoon.

Tweety, I'd noticed that the vorwerk made a different sound but wasn't sure if that was just because she was younger :)
