Anyone tried pole dancing?

Recommended Posts

And here I am - there are a couple of other Omleteers who have had a go too, I believe Cooperwife is one of them.

Its terrific, fantastic exercise, challenging a good laugh and you seem to progress quite quickly. I bruise easily and my legs are black and blue though! Next week I'm trying it in shorts and boots to get the grip on the pole as we are doing a "lift" type climby bit now.

I'm on my second lot of beginners lessons and I'm going to keep going till I'm ready for intermediate. My upper body stregth is improving massively and I am also benefitting from toning my legs ets - one thing my flabby body needs is a LOT of toning - losing a lot of weight in a short time leaves you desperately in need.

There is a video of me doing it on my Facebook - if you are on there add me as a friend and you can see it - I teach so I can't really put it anywhere more public even though it's more comedy value than erotic.

Enjoy your taster - thats how I got started!

It was GREAT! :D

Really enjoyed it and the two ladies that each were LOVELY.

Three of us from work went and there were a couple of other ladies and it was a really nice friendly atmosphere.

I thought I would ache a bit more this morning but i feel ok at the minute.

I do have quite an attractive bruise on my shin from doing the corkscrew spin!

I have signed up to the four week class that starts next week!

It is! All the gyms have had poles fitted and ladies who go to Pole Dancing classes for fitness were the "social stereotype" in a Telegraph a couple of months ago.

I'm thinking we need a Pole Dancing forum now....

Belly dancing is a lot of fun too... and it suits us 'more rounded' ladies... Mind you, as soon as I've lost a bit of weight I might give the Pole Dancing a go... do you absolutely need to wear silly high heels... it's just that belly dancing is done barefoot and I still managed to stumble a couple of times...

A friend of mine does belly dancing classes - she's 6' tall and well padded - she loves it and says that it's great for keeping in trim

I'm supposed to be doing belly dancing but after one lesson I kinda gave up. Its too late and you need some sense of co-ordination that I don't seem to have.

Maybe I'm just not rounded enough???

We just did the pole dancing taster in bare foot and the classes are all bare foot too. Although I am told at the end of my four week course I will be able to do my "routine" with heels, lights and a smoke machine :shock: AND they will record it and I get a copy on DVD!

 Will you make it to youtube then? Apparently that's the new measure of celebrity!

I think the DVD will be locked away in a box, in a locked cupboard in a locked room!!!

Be something to show the grandkids though! (got to have my own kids forst though!)

I saw a pole dancing thingy on Youtube the other day, I think it was Perth pole dancer or something. This woman was amazing! She had a black hotpant affair on and I have never seen acrobatics like it, truly great and wish I could be as fit as good as her.

(Also, I once saw some stilettoes with live goldfish in the platform bit at the front, REALLY want a pair now!)

I have a video on my facebook but I'm barefoot in trackies. Girl on the next pole (who is ALSO an ICT teacher!) is in shorts and hight heeled boots.

I tried it in shorts last Sunday and "Ooops, word censored!"ody laughed at my nora batty legs (what do you think happens after the weight falls off???) so this sunday its the whole hog and I'm wearing my boots which I bough in a charity shop too!!!

There isn't a link but you are second person that asked! Its on FB as only my approved friends can see it there. As a teacher thats a fairly safe way of doing it - not that it's remotely dodgy but the kids can make anything sound bad and the school gets complaints. A video has been posted on YouTube of one of our staff, its funny but nothing REMOTELY bad about it except it has the kids all fired up and has caused some disruption.

I will try and put it in a secure area on my webspace over the weekend and PM a link to selected people. Its worth it for the laugh!
