Electricbarbarella
I have a cube + extension with 6 girls. I would really like a couple more, I would get another extension but I dont have anywhere that I coujld keep them for introductions, what do others do as I cant imagine you all have multiple eglus? I keep thinking about getting another hen house but then I think I would like to have some garden left for the children to play in. We have a medium sized garden. Is there a way to do it? Falkor
Rent an Eglu for the introductions? There is a sticky with a list of people that have ones to rent but I spose it depends on where you live.

Electricbarbarella
Hi everyone, eglutine that would be great, I am about to venture into my garden and tear down a fence which is right next to my neighbours fence and I can see no reason why it is there. I measured the gap between the 2 fences and it is 45cm, that is a lot of an eglu isnt it, bit worried about what I may find behind this fence though as apparantly it has been there for 11 years, I am fed up of the weeds growing through it and I cant see why it is there when we could have a bigger garden. I dont know what I am going to get, I am up and down between ex batts, tgreen layers and hatching at the moment the ex batts are winning. Olly
Sounds as if you are sorted out, and a spare Eglu is ideal as you can take it slowly. However I managed my recent introduction with an Eglu run only, and a cat-box. I wired the open end of the Eglu run to the side of the Cube, and put the cat-carrier, stuffed inside a cardboard box for a bit more insulation, in there as a combined roost/nest-box. Pippie tucked herself up in the cat-box every night, and then when I got home from work I nipped up the garden, hoicked her out and popped her through the egg-port into the Cube to sleep. (Was she grateful? No!) Then in the morning I retrieved her and put her back in the Eglu run. Just thought I'd mention this as it's another option for anyone who hasn't got access to a spare Eglu. (Penguinmad offered me one but I didn't have time to fetch it.) Good luck with your new girls!

Electricbarbarella
Ok I am on track, our car has to go in for it's annual wotsits, we should have it back by Wednesday, My mum is going to knit some henny jumpers for the oven readies. what else do i need to think about, where can I get mash from? going to ask in the pet shop in a while but doubtful. I will want another glug and grub when they do go in wuith the others so I will get that ordered. I was thinking of tryiong to offload my children as I am guessing it would be an upsetting experience for them. I am so excited. My mum is a very good chicken gran and I have promised her free eggs for life in exchange for the jumpers.
