RosemarysBaby
ahh that explains it ... missed the boat on that one ! If you phone and ask they might have some shiny ones left but to be honest with only 10% off just as well buying one in colour you want it isn't a great saving really. Saying that I couldn't decide for over a month on the colour i wanted ended up doing family vote and narrowing down by that lol

RosemarysBaby
I just put the chickens in a cardboard box when transporting them, am I being mean!? nah cardboard box is fine it's just a temporary measure x hey has anyone else noticed this prob not if you don't look close enough but i said my eglu looked slightly scratched up on arrival and i found a tiny bit of rust on the run now forgiving this i let it go but today bearing in mind i havent got any chickens yet and my eglu is kept closed at all times i opened it to show a friend how it worked and i noticed there was like a hole on the roof underside with CHICKEN FEATHERS STUCK IN IT i pulled them out white chicken feathers now how does any one suppose that a BRAND NEW EGLU that has never had chickens in it or been left open atall manage to get chicken feathers stuck on the under side of the roof? I am contacting omlet on monday coz i would say this is pretty much proof that this is not the brand new eglu i paid for but a previously used one in good condition! I really cannot find any other explanation for finding chicken feathers in an unused eglu with an owner of NO chickens i am so interested to hear their explanation of this one!!!!!! Ain't Nobody Here
At the least they should give you the discount for a reconditioned eglu . You are positive they're chicken feathers (sorry, it's probably pretty obvious ) - there was a thread a while back about a hairy bit in the roof of the eglu here. Just a thought . Falkor
My Elgu (purchased and collected new from Omlet HQ) has a hole with hairy bits in it. I think it is something to do with the moulding of the plastic.
RosemarysBaby
My Elgu (purchased and collected new from Omlet HQ) has a hole with hairy bits in it. I think it is something to do with the moulding of the plastic. It looked particulary like a small chicken feather i maybe wrong but obviously first instinct is if it looks like a feather and it feels like a feather it's a feather lol why would they have a hole with hairy bits? It most certainly didn't look or feel like anything like residual plastic. it was so windy last night i dont know if it will still be in the garden but i will have a check. also it didn't look like any button it was just a feather sticking out. Plum
The cube has it too its just fibres from the moulding process. But also a very coveted item
RosemarysBaby
The cube has it too its just fibres from the moulding process. But also a very coveted item I am pretty sure it was a feather it had a rib down the middle and feathers on either side of it there is residual fibre after that i did find that looking again but the first thing i pulled was an actual feather about 2cm long. How long are the fibres that people are finding?
Ain't Nobody Here
Certainly sounds like a feather . I'd call Omlet and see what they say. As I said earlier, if you're sure it's not a brand new eglu, they should give you a refund for the amount they knock off a reconditioned one. But I am certain it was a feather problem is i let it go yesterday in the garden and i cannot find it today it has been so windy during the night covers where off the garden furniture. I will phone them though and mention it i mean i know what a feather looks like my dad was an ornithologist
RosemarysBaby
Well I typed email omlet into google and grabbed first member of staff i could find and sent them an email about it. I can't send it back it's already all hooked up and stuff and kids used boxes as giant houses we cut windows and everything into them lol. I'll just wait and see what the dude says about it. It might of been sent by accident if it's reconditioned one. Either way my eglu works fine and dandy x
RosemarysBaby
I had emailed omlet yesterday and i got a reply today saying there is a possibility that i received a reconditioned eglu by accident and he could either send out replacement or refund £33 so i think i will opt for the £33 the eglu works fine and is already set up and quite frankly the refund will pay for 3 of my chickens so quite happy at that!!!!
