bellekatz
Just heard that 12, maybe 13 Norwegian Forest Cats have been stolen from the Chelkesi cattery in the Darwen area of Lancashire last night. Their owner was out for a few hours in the evening babysitting for her daughter - when she came back, all of the cat pens were empty. Only one oldie in the house is left.... Maureen lives by herself and is obviously devastated. Please pass this message on to as many cat friends as you can to raise awareness - the cats may start appearing on the internet/local papers/Loot etc. - I'm hoping it's not something more sinister. Many thanks in advance*´¨)

bellekatz
I was hoping this wouldnt get moved as this needs as many people to see it as possible and this won't happen tucked away in here.............. and I thought t was a news item rather than a discussion about my pets Edited February 9, 2009 by Guest

Omletina Kyckling
That is absolutely terrible, how devastating for the owner. I agree that this should be in the Nesting Box so more people see it as not everybody goes into the animals section. Perhaps a Moderator could move it back? Aunty e
That's just AWFUL. I spend my life hanging round places like Pets4homes and Gumtree anyway, so I'll keep an eye out - idiots being what they are, it's likely they'll be described as 'persian' 'purrshun' or some other variant on stupid-people speak for fluffy cat. bellekatz
This is from the Norwegain Forest Cub website. Please keep an eye open on loot/gumtree etc in case you hear of any desriptions that match these cats. I know you are ll animal lovers and can understand how devastated this poor woman must be. Maureen Savage of the Chelkesi cattery had 13 of her cats stolen from the garden in Darwen, Lancashire on the evening of 7th February while she was out for a few hours babysitting. The stud boys were blue and white and red tabby and white with a six month black and white kitten. Female neuters were black and white. Queens were blue tortie and white, red tabby and white, tortie smoke and white, white, silver tortie tabby and white and brown tabby and white. There was also a tortie and white kitten with red, blue and white semi-longhair moggies. You can find pictures of the cats on Maureen's website here: http://www.chelkesi.co.uk If you have any information please contact Maureen, as she is understandably deeply upset by this event

jill the potter
The theives must have known that they are valuable cats as they are quite a distinctive cat. I had never heard of the breed till about 4 months ago when my firend got one. They are so beautiful. I do hope they are found and returned soon, but the very least lets hope they are 'bought' into good homes.
