Idea!

Recommended Posts

I just had a brilliant idea!

A chookcam that came in eglu colours and would clip onto the run (like the glug and grub), also it would be wireless and run off batteries. It would be really easy to set up too (even jackiepoppies could set it up!), so anyone could watch their chickens whist they are away etc etc.

Oh go away Fred..........

With thanks to ANH I have only just managed an avatar and signature.....still working on the colour :!:

Do you realise how many psychiatric places will be required if anyone offers to help me :?:

You wouldn't believe what I had to promise ANH and her family, (willingly of course, no duress)

Jackiex

AKA The 'Pooter Numpty 2009$'......I challenge anyone to claim this title :!:

Edit to say.......did anyone spot the deliberate mistake :?::whistle:

I like your style! - I was only wondering the other day how easy it would be to adapt the bird box with webcam that some supermarket was offering the other day!

I saw one of these in the garden centre yesterday - but at £90  I think our blue tits will be nesting without voyeurs this year.

I was heard to say 'You could set that up much cheaper - and another to watch the chickens'. OH suddenly vanished behind the seed potatoes  . Wonder why?

Go on Fred, get it on sale, I'll be a willing tester!

Hi Fred,

Have you seen any suitable "chookcams" I would like to see these sort of features:

Wireless IP camera (both WAN and LAN) up to 25fps with night day colour and night vision.

Night Vision IP /Network camera features a standalone system, which means a camera and a computer combined in a small package. Built-in A/V encoder module and web server provide users to view images through IP network (LAN) or wireless IP network (WAN) with a browser on any computer connected to network. And it can be installed easily and friendly by using a IP configuration software to assign an IP to your IP camera.

Both WAN and LAN:

WAN - WiFi IEEE 802.11b/g (W10) wireless network function; if you have a wireless router

LAN - wired network function; if you have a wired router

Includes snapshot/motion detection/FTP/e-mail alert and professional CCTV "secu vision" software for IP cameras

>Up to 25 FPS Performs High Quality Service to Multiple Users >Motion Detection Supports Upload Images to FTP & EMAIL >GPIO Enables External Trigger and Motion Alarm Output >Built in Microphone Brings Users More Than Video Only >View with Browsers No Specific AP Needed > Remote Record and Snapshot Control on Web

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Pardon? No, I'm joking! Please don't explain! (/translate?)

Fred please will you invent a device that is solar or battery powered that will let the chickens out of the Eglu. I feel this would be useful when I am on holiday so that my chicken minder wouldn't have to get up so early to let my chickens out. I know it would be mechanically complicated with the "lift up and twist" action required, surely not impossible though?
