Tulip
As Quick Cluck asked for pics, I just have to show off my Barnevelder, Chive, who we've had for 5 months today: She looks much more grown up these days and is VERY nosey and friendly. She lays two-days-on-one-day-off without fail - surpassing herself this week with a run of three days in a row. She is absolutely stunning and her feathers are always in such good condition. The only problem? She wants to be a house chicken. As soo as you open the door she tries to get past your legs to come in for a preen in front of the TV Oh, and she was whinging a bit at 6.30 this morning so I had to hiss out of the window and tell her to shut up! She's usually very well behaved, though Edited to say: She lays dark brown eggs but sometimes the colour isn't even and they end up speckeldy or half dark / half mid-brown. bronze
I tried hatching some barnies. The eggs were a mid brown mottled with dark brown spots. Sadly I only managed to hatch my beautiful boy Frankie who had to be rehomed
