Stu1977
I hatched two buff Wyandotte miniatures - sisters - in November 2005. They've lived together with a light Sussex miniature and a RIR miniature since then. I found one of the buff Wyandottes dead yesterday and have noticed today that the other - her sister - is making a sound that I've never heard a chicken make before. She's making a pitiful intermittent whining noise. Is it possible that she's missing her sister and grieving? She appears perfectly healthy. Groovychook
So sorry to hear your news I'm sure a new companion or two would help your sad girl.
Daphne
I'm sorry to hear your sad news. I think chickens do pine when they lose a best companion, and they are certainly flock animals so I would do as Egluntine suggests and get her a new friend or 2.
